The year was highlighted by the selection of Mary Fraser (Center Red) to the NZ under 17
squad preparing for the 2010 World Cup.

Gordy Lamont buries this header to secure the Charity Cup for Old Boys and ensure a historic clean sweep
of Senior Men's trophies for the season.

His team mates all helped out though.

Carl Lambert (he's the guy in the pic) not only got married but had time to coach wife Tracey and the
newly formed Riverton girls to the pre-season and main competition wins.
...
In fact invited team Queenstown (red), which included this very talented youngster, won the end of season KO cup
for Women against Riverton in a thrilling game.
The resort team coach Darren Rewi (right) has indicated that the team will play in the Southland Women's comp
from 2010. Nice one....

Barry Gardiner most deservedly won the Footballer Of The Year title.

Thistle's Hayley Munro looks on and thinks if that ball hits Stu i'm in big trouble.

Jeff Walker completed 10 years at the helm of the Southland Football Board of Management.

Barry Gardiner linked up with fellow Scot Craig Milne for Spirit FC.

Hargest won the College Boy's title

No 10 for Winton Sam Sewpersad was on the losing end of the Girls final to SGHS
But with this cracking 30 metre free kick and an equally stunning field goal she took the limelight on the night.

These girls just love Southend United, well perhaps just some of Southend United

Phil Bulling kept up the Refs fitness reputation by clearly out-sprinting Paul Berry to keep up with play.

Aaron Burgess (left) made a "marquee" appearance for Queens Park in the Charity Cup alongside
his brother Matty who is a regular for Park and Spirit FC.

This young Junior Wanderers lad gets an 11 for effort as he attempts a goal against Old Boys.
....
Southland Football Changed its logo....hmmmm not as clean but I suppose a bit more up-market a 6/10 for me
cos' the wording's not in maroon and gold. (call me old fashioned if you like...)
